Service terms

Terms of Service

These terms explain how appointments, estimates, service approvals and website information are handled by SkillRise.

Effective date: 1 January 2025. Website: https://skillrise.info/. Contact: info@skillrise.info.

1. Scope of services

SkillRise provides watch assessment, service planning, restoration consultation, collector-care guidance and related appointment services. Certain mechanical work, parts sourcing or specialist procedures may require external partners, manufacturer service routes or separate approval.

2. Independent atelier status

We are independent. Brand names may be used only to identify watches owned by clients. We do not claim authorisation, endorsement or affiliation with any watch manufacturer unless expressly confirmed in writing.

3. Estimates and approvals

Website price ranges and service descriptions are general planning information. A final estimate depends on physical inspection, movement type, condition, parts availability, manufacturer restrictions, water-resistance requirements and the client’s goals. No paid repair or restoration begins without client approval of the relevant scope and estimate.

4. Assessment limitations

External inspection and timing observations cannot reveal every internal fault. Additional issues may be discovered after opening a watch. If the scope changes materially, we pause and seek approval before proceeding.

5. Vintage and water resistance

Vintage watches and older cases may not be suitable for water exposure even after gasket work. We do not promise water resistance where case design, age, corrosion, parts or testing limitations make the promise irresponsible.

6. Refinishing and originality

Polishing, brushing or case correction may change the watch’s appearance and collector perception. We discuss the risks before recommending cosmetic work. Clients remain responsible for deciding whether appearance or originality is the priority.

7. Client responsibilities

  • Provide accurate ownership, service history and symptom information where known.
  • Remove personal accessories or unrelated items before handing over a watch.
  • Approve or decline estimates in a timely manner.
  • Collect completed items within the agreed period.
  • Follow aftercare guidance for water, shock, magnetism, winding and storage.

8. Timelines

Timelines are estimates. Parts availability, specialist processes, shipping, testing cycles and client approval time may affect delivery. We communicate material delays when reasonably possible.

9. Liability

We take reasonable care of watches in our possession. However, pre-existing wear, hidden faults, aged materials, brittle components, previous repairs and parts scarcity may limit what can be safely achieved. Liability is limited to the extent permitted by applicable law and the written service arrangement.

10. Website use

Website content is provided for general service education and appointment planning. It is not a guarantee, valuation, authentication certificate or manufacturer advice. You must not misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access, submit malicious code or copy content in a way that misrepresents our business.

11. Privacy

Personal data is handled according to the Privacy Policy. Cookie choices are explained in the Cookie Policy.
